EK Collective is a social enterprise, not for profit company that exists to help local businesses get started and succeed. We remove the usual barriers that start-up businesses face with completely flexible month to month studio leases and flexible hot desks.
We are here to support, signpost to funding and advisors for business growth. Move from a hot desk to a studio to a bigger studio as you grow, on a rolling monthly basis to suit your needs.
The fountain logo for the Collective is based on the design of the Baillie James Martin drinking fountain at Glasgow Green.
The Collective founders’ great grandfather, Joseph Dunn adopted this logo as it was the fountain where he watered his horses between deliveries of his “aerated waters” for his soft drinks manufacturing business in Bridgeton. Details on the company are here.
The fountain was an important community gathering place and service to the local area. We believe today’s Collective is an extension of this idea and provides a space which supports the local community to thrive and grow.
By coincidence, the manufacturer of the fountain, Walter Macfarlane & Co started their business at Saracen Foundry on the site of the current Glasgow Collective.
